NC Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Johnston/12234 Surname: waddell ------------------------- Hi Warren Thanks for the marriage info on Edward Waddell and Rebecca Ballard. This is possibly (and very probably), the Rebecca that I've been seeking.I,ve been seeking info under the possibility that REBECCA BALLANCE-named in her father's will as Rebeca Waddell, was possibly my ggggrandmother, with no proof other than that. I have done considerable research on Edward and Rebecca in Cherokee Co. Al., where they purchased land in 1849, but have been unable to dig up much on them while they were in Johnston Co..Thanks again for your help Warren!

NC Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/NC/Johnston/12233 Surname: Pate, Beasley, Robinnett, Douglas, Yates, Woods, Rollins ------------------------- Travis PATE recorded on Census for 1784 and 1790 Both Travis PATE Sr. (living alone over 45) and Jr. recorded on census for 1800. Only Travis Pate Sr. and Nancy Pate (whom I presume is the wife of Travis Jr. who had died by this time?) are recorded on the census of 1810. Edmund PATE (perhaps a son of Travis Pate Jr. recorded on the 1820 and 1830 Census. Does anybody have more info on this family especially Travis Pate Jr., Sr., their families and ancestors? My connection is Polly Anne who married James Beasley and moved to Warren Co., Ga.

Dear List: I noticed the name Hennant on an entry. My g-greatgrandmother was Elizabeth Hennant Parker who was born in NC but lived in Smith County, TN. She is shown on both the 1850 and 1860 Smith County census as head of household. She had two sons (as well as other children), James Newton Parker and Richard Parker (my great grandfather). I have been trying unsuccessfully to find her husbands name and her family. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Curt Johnson in OK

In 1837 ALSEY PACE married CASSANDRA DEAN in Johnston Co., NC,( his second marriage). This appears to be the family from the 1860 Johnston Co. census. However, I do not believe the age of Alsey is correct here--he was born around 1785 and in 1860 would have been closer to 75 years old. The age of his wife may be incorrect also. Alsey Pace was the son of Stephen Pace and an Indian girl; therefore this whole family were shown in the census as mulatto. I was reading this census from the handwritten version and I may not have everything spelled correctly or the children's ages correct. Does anyone have information on this Pace family or on the family of Cassandra Dean, the wife? PACE, ALSEY - 60 - farmer $3000real est., plus $1000 pers. prop. Cassandra - 35 (probably about 50 years old actually) Noah - 23 Madison - 21 Harriet - 19 David - 18 Obedience - 15 Riner(?) - male 13 Sally - 10 Solomon - 1 Betty Pace ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! After rechecking notes written by deceased uncle and checking with my sister, the story about ancestor coming and working to pay for passage may NOT be accurate. However, if true, it probably was a ggrandfather or gggrandfather, or more, and may have been on the maternal side of JOHN RAINS.
