    3. Would someone who has the Johnston County cemetery books please check something for me? Cemetery #129, the Charlie Edwards Cemetery in O'Neals Township, lists Lawton Edwards as being born on 1 Jan 1873. I know that this is wrong because his mother, Fronie Edwards, is also listed as being born in 1873; his father, Charley, is listed as being born in 1875. This is the way it is listed on my cemetery CD. I just wondered if the cemetery book might have the correct date of Lawton's birth. I appreciate any help that anyone can offer. Sue

It is title the Henry C. Edwards bible. I have Henry Casey in my tree! Henry Casey Edwards Capps married Eveline Edwards. She was born in 1836, and living with the Jacob Daughtry family(1850 Census, Johnston County). Jacob was married to Celia Edwards. She had an illegitimate daughter by a jacob Jackson before she married Henry. Her name was Sarah Jane Edwards, I have a picture of her, b. 11 Dec 1859, and died 25 Jun 1920. What do you have on the Mourning Edwards Henry Capps relationship? The reason Im asking is because I have heard this before. My direct lineage runs like this and you can see why I'm intrigued... Newsom Edwards married Mourning Davis 4.12.1834... (Still looking at this) (Newsom dies prior to 1850, last document was 8/31/1840, witness to Vine Edwards and Patsey Peedin marriage) one known son, Larkin Haywood Edwards, b. 8/24/1835... (Living with Aurther Woodard in 1850, Census record, Johnston County)(Aurther was married to Appa Edwards)(it is believed that Eveline and Larkin were brother and sister). Larkin's first son was John Newsom Edwards. his first son by second marriage was Major Walter Edwards. He was married to Della Eason. Della Eason's father was John D. Eason. John D. Eason's wife was Sarah Jane Edwards... Eveline's illegitmate daughter, and step daughter to Henry Caaey... please contact to share info: [email protected]

Surnames: Annice Eason Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gVB.2ACI/2752 Message Board Post: I am doing research on EAson family from Nash County, NC. Oldest documented info I have is as follows: John Eason, born 3/19/1849-died 4/8/1917. Married to nancy Mae Vester, born 9/16/1866-died 2/11/1943. Info was from death certificate. His mother was listed as Willie Eason, father unknown. I assume he was illegitimate. The Bastardy Bonds list William Strickland and Annice Eason on the February 1824 court. The 1850 census lists Annis or Annice at age 51 and Willie Ann at age 26 which would make her birth about 1824 and her mother at 1799. Willie Ann obviously was illegitimate also. What I am trying to determine if all this is accurate is Annice/Annis Eason's mother and father's name since the maiden names were used for Willie and John. If you have done research on this family or have any info that might help, I would greatly appreciate it. I have been told since childhood that my descendants were Scotch-Irish. Unfortunately, all grandparents were deceased before I was born; and I have no older living relatives or family Bibles to research. I realize these folks were from Nash County but have been told that Nash and Edge combe derived from Franklin/jJohnston or that descendents could have been from any of these counties. Any info you can supply will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Bill Eason

For Austin Hood, abt. 1780 to 1846 (death reported in the Raleigh newspaper). I have Mary "Polly" Harrison's father as John Harrison, but I have never done a great deal of research on the Harrisons, so I don't know any more than that. Johnston or Wayne County connections would be entirely plausible. Loss of Wake County records in fire and in the Civil War makes it hard to trace. Their son's name was William Henry Hood, so 'Henry' may have been a family name. Regards, Davd Anderson
