I just discovered that Betty Camden's Bastardy Bonds book is shown in most (if not all) North Carolina counties on the below Linkpendium web site. First get to the county you are searching and find Bastardy Bonds on the menu. Sometimes the year dates aren't in order. For instance, Rowan Co. jumped from 1809 into the 1870s and I had to scroll down to find the 1811 entries. Betty Pace > http://www.linkpendium.com/

He was born in 1845. Cullen's son Wiley Rand married Elizabeth Helen Gattis. I noticed in the 1870 Census in Johnston County, there's a female, Willie with a son name Wiley and one named Clem. Cullen had a son named James Ransom that married Ridley Ann Parrish in Johnston County. There was a Clem Bailey that witness the marriage. I'm wondering if they are related. Also, in the 1860 Census there was a Arnold Bailey from Johnston County with a son and looks like grandson named Wiley? Hope this helps
Johnson enthusiasts, My grandmothers maiden name was Catherine ("Cattie") leonard JOHNSON. She was born July 17, 1880. She was the daughter of Eli JOHNSON and Lucinda CROCKER. She married my Grandfather: Percival ("Percy") Evans TOMLINSON, November 29, 1900. All are lived in the Wilson's Mills area of Johnston County, NC. The only information I have about Eli JOHNSON is: he was born in Johnston County, June 13, 1853 and he was the son of Carey JOHNSON: born, ca. 1802. and Polly WEST, born ca. 1818. I have Carey and Pollys marriage date in Johnston County: January 10, 1835. One of Eli's sons was named Julian Carey JOHNSON..unusual names; however, difficult to find..Any information about Carey would be very helpful. Jeannie Tomlinson Benson

It does not say if there is a "Bastardy Bond" or other documentation, but Mark MYATT has in his will "I give to my grandson, Gabriel MYATT..."
