I am not sure if you have ever contacted me before. I am going to my house in Fredericksburg, Texas tomorrow and that is where most of my genealogy research is at. With the posting of the last couple of days, I am going to have to make a list of the names and check them against a genealogy program that I have my family tree saved in. I have some information on Teagle Ballance's family on my notebook computer but it is less than I have on my other computer. I will check in Fredericksburg.

She is buried on one side of Henry Flowers and Henry's old age wife, Patsy is buried on his other. I found an 1860's will where Windsor Watkins (maybe Patience's uncle? - left something to Sally (Henry and Patience's young girl) and a bee-hive to Henry Flowers and also land to his nephew - a Watkins - but if that Nephew didn't honor Betsey Sike's life right to it (Windsor's - apparent mistress, or just some good deed gesture?) it was to go to Henry Flowers instead. But I think the Watkins nephew went along with the stipulation. They didn't need soap opera's back then - real life seemed to supply plenty of twists!

That is close to the Wayne County line and there are also many Ballances around the town of Fremont. My Father and his siblings were born in the Beulah Township and my Grandparents moved the family to the Taylor's Bridge Township in the 1920's. I will check the other information you asked about and e-mail you what I find.

Your version maybe easier, does it have Insel/Incill Watkins and wife Fanny/Thana/Bethany? I have been to their daughter's Patience Watkins Flowers grave (1828 - 1905) and know where they lived from deeds and family knowledge. The Ballance's seem to have lived around Kenly NC as well but I don't know exactly where. You wouldn't happen to know to which Batten man Elizabeth Ballance (William and Peggy's daughter) was married? If I can help you, as well, let me know.

I can give you some additional information about William Ballance. William Ballance was born about 1770. I think he was born in Currituck County, North Carolina and he died 1Oct 1833 in Johnston County, North Carolina. Peggy Slaughter was his wife and she was born about 1772 in Currituck County. Peggy Slaughter was the daughter of John Slaughter. John Slaughter was born about 1746 in Currituck County and he died 15 Aug 1830 in Johnston County. John Slaughter was a Captain in the Contiental Army and in th 5th North Carolina in 1779 during the American Revolution. John Slaughter is a very difficult person to research because of the number of John Slaughters. I verified infarmation about him from some Revolutionary War Muster Rolls at the genealogy library in Houston, Texas. You may contact me direct at my e-mail address: [email protected] The daughters I have listed for William and Peggy! are: Fannie(I think this was a name you listed), Rebecca, & Elizabeth. I recently purchased a CD that lists Cementeries for Johnston County, North Carolina. I would be glad to check for any names you might need from that county.
