    1. Jesse Lee and Sarah Westbrook
    2. Helen, Thank you so much for the information! I was unaware of that publication. Yes that is the same family. Fannie was my Great grandmothers youngest (known) sister and she is listed in the US1900 Census, as being age 11 and born in 1889. Her father JESSE LEE was dead by then, so SALLIE A. LEE (AKA SARAH)) was listed as Head of House. I was also unaware that JESSIE's middle name was Franklin. YES I would greatly appreciate anything you can convey on them! I would be interested in Fannnies children and any other info! Thank you again... 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Smith Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gVB.2ACI/2794.5 Message Board Post: I have some information on the Smith line from Johnston County. We've moved and I'll need to dig it out. One of my lines descends from Rufus Smith (b. ca. 1831 d. 27 Sept 1862 in Richmond, VA during Civil War) of Wake County(near edge of Johnston) who died in the Civil War. He had a son John born ca.1852. I do not know of his descendents as I descend from his brother Lorenzo. Rufus' land in Wake County was lost because he mortgaged it before he left for Civil War and the wife Margaret(b. ca. 1827) moved after he died.

    1. LEE / WESTBROOK / TART lineage
    2. Anyone out there in these LEE, WESTBROOK or TART lines? I have only just recently had line proved after a decade of searching. My grandfathers mother died a few months after he was born, in early 1904, so her roots were long unknown to us. Once I verified the connection- the SAMPSON-L list members were so very helpful in going back a few generations. Now I am trying to get back to establishing the full tree and discovering all I can about my ancestors.. I descend from JESSE LEE b. ca.1847-9; d. ca.1898; & SARAH A. WESTBROOK of Johnston & Sampson Counties. JESSIE LEE was the son of JAMES W. LEE & ISABELLA TART. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend... Scanning tintypes (or copying photographically) gives surprisingly good results, even with originals which have become darkened with age. 2. Helen; I have enjoyed all that you have shared. If this is Spam then send it on. With all the sites out there and more coming every day it is nice not to have to spend hours looking for sites pertaining to my genealogical research. So THANK YOU for sharing. And a big THANK YOU to all that have found stuff they are willing to share. I thought that is what this is all about. Linda Aubrey Springfield, Oregon

    2. Found out it was the List Administrator for Anson Co., she was getting my e-mails twice and was filling up her mail box. 3. Helen, Please accept that you or anybody else will never please everybody. Anyone considering your post as spam are nothing more than sticks in the mud. Let those people unsubscribe if they wish. If you believe anything you have to say or any link might be helpful to anyone, please do make that post. If you get anymore mail about this, I would ignore it. This person might have already had the link you just sent but that doesn't mean everyone did. In fact, I am a member of a private list that I forwarded your link to. I had already sent a link or two that could be found within that site but for some reason I never sent the home page. That link would allow sites for historic info on one bookmarked site. There are many in genealogy that may just collect names, so have no need for historic info. There are those who do not realize that as a genealogist, they are also historians. The same is not true that all historians are genealogist. Also, consider that sometimes people just have a bad hair day. It is a shame that when this happens people aren't wise enough to bite their tongue for a few minutes and that urge to lash out will pass. Instead some will try to control others about their beliefs and such. So inconsiderate. Let your heart be your guide. If you think it will help someone, then by all means make the post. If someone gives you grief about it, either ignore that or send them a short and sweet note that you are sorry that they were offended. Remember, you can always block those that insist on being rude. The list admin will correct you if you are wrong. Laugh it off my Dear and keep helping as you may. Take care. Bye, Mike
