Hi Kay, You certainly have my vote, I think the new page is wonderful. It is much easier to locate the information without scrolling thru a long list. I find that it loads as fast or faster as than old page. I thank you for you efforts to provide the best for Hyde researchers. Regards, Lillian
Kay, I also like the new page. Seems to load much faster. You have really did a great job. I always enjoy going to the site and checking out all the new goodies. Keep up he GREAT work that you have been doing. Esther Blair Radcliffe
I would just like to add a big DITTO to Ruffin's comments. I spend 12 hours a day on the computer, many scanning county pages, and Hyde Co. has always been tops in my opinion. I do like the new navigation and think it will be a lot easier to find the content. Nola nduffy@patch.net http://www.patch.net
Hello Kay, I love your new page, it loads instantly and the format is great!! I have been all around the web over the last few years doing genealogy research. Hyde County is easily the best for the format and for the content. I wish other counties and states had nearly as much information as we do. I live in Maryland and have to depend on this web page for much of my information about my father's family. I have made wonderful contacts with people who have given me a lot of help. Thanks so much to John McGowan and you for all of your great work. Warmest Regards, Ruffin Cooper > OK all you Hyde listers, here's your chance to voice your > opinion. I am sure this was meant for the list Kay. Hitting just reply will only reply to the one that sent the message. If you hit reply all, then delete the address of the sender it will go to the list. I too think you do a wonderful job of keeping people informed of the new things you put up. Thank you! Terria -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [NCHYDE] "New Look" for Hyde Co. Kay, I think it looks really great! It loads about the same as the old page but it is much easier to read by you grouping things together. The long list is not as clear and you have search through the whole list to find things. You have done an excellent job! Keep up the good work! Terria "Kay M. OK all you Hyde listers, here's your chance to voice your opinion. Off and on since February I've been working on a "new look" for our home page. Although it's still under construction at the moment, I didn't want to put any more time into it if most of you didn't like it and if it wasn't more "user friendly". Let me know if 1) it takes about the same time to load on your computer (or faster/slower) as the old page and 2) if it's easier to find articles that you might be interested in. All comments AND suggestions are welcomed. Please send your reply back to this list, not to me personally. Some links on the "new look" page are not working as yet but you can view it and do a little surfing at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~nchyde/HYDE1.HTM In the meantime the same page that you have been using for the past 3 years will still be intact and usable as usual. Let me hear from all of you! Kay Lynn--in delightfully cool TN this morning.

Folks, I think I've mentioned before in one of my messages that I'd been doing a little spring cleaning and I came across the following information that I'd taken off of microfilm at the TN State Archives years ago. This information has been sitting on my bookshelves in a long-forgotten spiral notebook and so I thought I would share this information with any of you who are interested. I think all these entries pertain to Hyde County folks who migrated into White Co., TN. If any of you decide to do a little cleaning and come up with any information such as this, please drop a note to the list. I assure you, it WILL be appreciated by someone out there looking for just the right piece of their puzzle.
