I am researching Lewis Ezell who was born in Hertford Co 1780. His son David's Bible states that Lewis's father was Benjamin Ezell. Benjamin appears on the Hertford tax list in 1779. I understand that the courthouse in Hertford Co. has burned twice. Other than a few tax lists, I have been unable to locate records for this time period.
