Hi, Im really hoping someone can help me. I live in MA but am researching my grandfather's family in NC. So far, I have run into dead ends with every turn I've taken with this branch of the family :( I am looking for any info at all on J.B. (no first or middle) Evans who was born in 1829 in Hertford Co. (I believe). The only other info that I have on him is that his wife's name was Elizabeth and she was born in 1830. They had a son, Joseph Henry Evans b orn in June 1857 Hertford Co who was my great grandfather. I have been told that a lot of records for Hertford County were burned in the Civil War. Does anyone know if this is true? THanks for any help at all! Susan
