Just saw a very nice Hertford Co. site that you may want to check out: http://www.carolinacuzins.org/hert.html Also, this is a wonderful site for land research that was recommended if you are, or would like to start plotting the grants and deeds of your ancestors there is a program out that will do that to perfection, if you can get the metes and bounds from a patent or deed. It is called DeedMapper and is very easy to use, but if you have it, you must have the maps to make a whole lot of sense out of it. Steve Broyles, who wrote the program, can provide maps, but if you know how to scan in USGS maps, you would probably be ahead of the game with them.
