Also, I visited the Gates Co. site last night and really looked around this time - they have done some amazing things with that site and there is a wealth of info - particularly impressive is the Cemetery project. That is a place worth your visit as there are so many cemeteries and interments listed that I think you'd be hard pressed to not find something or someone interesting. Quick link: http://www.throughwire.net/gatesgenweb/ Something else that is just wonderful to know this Kentucky Derby weekend - I was informed this morning that Hertford County posted 21 cemeteries and two newspaper articles to its data base last week that were added to the North Carolina USGenWeb Archives and Tombstone Transcription Register. All of the counties had activity of course, but it really is fun to see Hertford County taking strides like this! Please take a minute to contribute something to the data base okay? They say what goes around comes around, and what you have to share may mean a lot to someone else - then come right back around to you! If you have any suggestion, questions or info to share or time to transcribe information to be placed in the Archives to improve the available data base for research please let it be known by posting to this board or the Hertford county List, site, or Archives.
