Joel died at Hertford County, NC. Joel and Hastey were married. Joel and Hastey had the following children: 2. i. Rachel Lassiter b-abt 1836 3. ii. Mary Elizabeth Lassiter b-1836-1841, d- 22 Oct 1921 4. iii. James Lassiter b-abt 1840 -I have no middle name. 5. iv. Nancy Lassiter b-abt 1843 6. v. Joseph Lassiter b-abt 1844 7. vi. Edwin Lassiter b-abt 1848 8. vii. infant Lassiter b-abt 1849 As for William Lassiter I have the following... 1. William Lassiter William was born about 1825. William died at Hertford County, NC. William and Margaret Peggy were married. William and Peggy had the following children: 2. i. Henry Lassiter b-25 Feb 1841, d-28 Feb 1921 3. ii. Wiley Lassiter b-abt 1847 4. iii. James Lassiter b-abt 1850 - I have no middle name here either. Now I do not know how close the families were but William Lassiter's son Henry, married Joel Lassiter's daughter Mary Elizabeth.
