I am researching the Francis and Hill lines. My gr grandfather was William St.Clair Francis. He was born March 1882 to a J.F. (possibly JT) and Cora Francis. The father died and Cora remarried a Hill there in Elizabeth City. Cora herself died by 1909 because the Hill man remarried and had 4 sons, Frank, John, Joseph and Fentress. There is one son (John I think it was), still alive (92 yrs) and he is in Elizabeth City. I talked to him but he didn't know much. He did call William Francis "Saint" and said that Saint would come to see his father and mother. William married and older woman in NC who died sometime before 1924. No one knows her name. I am planning a trip home in July and hope to be able to get more information.
