I have had such difficulty finding records in Hertford Co. I understand that the courthouse has burned at least twice. I would be interested in a discussion of what records are available. The families I am interested in are: Benjamin Ezell who is on the 1790 and 1800 censuses in Hertford. His son Lewis later moved to Lauderdale Co., AL. Also the family of Jonathan and Priscilla Rogers who were on the 1790 census. Their daughter Nancy married Lewis Ezell. I have been told (but have not been able to confirm) that Will Rogers traced his family to the Hertford Co. Rogers. Sandy
