In his book Old Albemarle and Its Absentee Landlords, Worth Ray stated he believed that the ancestors of humorist Will Rogers descended from Edward Rogers who came to America in 1623 and that they migrated from Virginia into NC....Chowan Co. which in part became Gates. He believed that the Rogers in Hertford were of the same family. Does anyone have information which would verify the relationship? Sandy
