    3. Hi all, I have a death certificate that is confusing me, especially because of Dawn's message about a Jesse Bryant Lassiter, and because of the census that shows a Jesse B. Lassiter in my ancestor's household. My Jesse was born about 1861. Here's what the death certificate says: Jesse Bryant Lassiter Male, White, Widowed Date of Birth: Can't learn, 1861 Age: About 58 Occupation: Farmer Birthplace: Hertford Co. Parents: Henry Lassiter, NC -- Betsy Lassiter, NC (Don't you hate it when they use nicknames on these things?!) Informant: J. W. Lassiter, Aulander, NC Date of Death: Jan. 27, 1919 Cause of Death: Influenza (15 days) Contributory: Heart & kidney dis. Place of Burial: Hertford Co. Date of Burial: Jan. 28, 1919 Undertaker: J. W. Herring, Aulander, NC Any other information about any Jesse Lassiters born around this time period will be helpful. I imagine when I finish sorting this mountain of paper I will have some better clues, but meanwhile, I will take all the help I can get. <smile> I do hope I can find some more information for you all in this pile. I kept the wish lists in front of me the whole time I was looking for my stuff. One or two of you had easy answers. Some of you had age-old questions experienced certified genealogists have not been able to figure out for years, so I didn't have a chance (like the Harrell question). The others I may have found some answers for, and at least an idea of where to look next or where not to look. -Susan
