Some of these were actually in other counties as the counties exist today, but they have records in Henderson County: Jacob Wetzel; Nobel Johnson (d. 1800); John Johnson (d. 1848); Mary Strange (d. 1842; have lots of good information about the Strange family who are the maternal ancestors of many Henderson County families); Dr. Thomas Jefferson Lister (d. 1874); John Clayton (1788-1857) and his wife Elizabeth Neill; George Clayton (1796-1837) and his wife Elizabeth Bryson; Lambert Clingman Clayton and his wife Eliza Burgin; Lambert Clayton (1816-1877) and his two wives: Sarah Myriam Bryson and Naomi Johnson; Rachel Clayton and her husband William Brittain; William Bryson and his wife Susannah; and William Bryson and his wife Sarah Jones; John Jones and his wife Patience; Rachel Clayton and Allen Watson Gash are just a few of the individuals I am researching and have materials on before 1900.
