It appears we will have to continue to wonder about who the Edward Johnson and the James Johnson Sr. and Jr. form the 1790 census are to Noble and his two sons, James and Noble. Edward reappears in the 1800 census, too, as an older man like Noble. Also in that 1800 census of Buncombe Co. are the families of Nathaniel and Jacob Johnson Sr. also headed by older men. Does anybody know who these Johnsons are? They all lived near each other. Also, please tell me more about the Saluda Johnsons.
