    1. [ NCHENDER] ROLL CALL-MY LINES-HEFNER, TRAMMELL, SUMMEY, WETZEL,SUMMEY, DAVIS,MAULDIN!
    2. I am WYLENE ALSTON, the list managers here, "I have been doing Genealogy for well over 30 years. My surnames in Henderson Co., NC before Transylvania Co, was formed are HEFNER, TRAMMELL, SUMMEY, MAULDIN, DAVIS, WETZEL. My gggg grandfather JACOB WETZEL married MARGARET SUMMEY about 1772 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. It is not known where JACOB WETZEL came from, nor do we know who his parents were. MARGARET SUMMEY was the daughter of PETER and MARGARET MERTZ. The SUMMEY lines runs all the way back to Luaanen, Canton of Bern, Switzerland to the first known SUMMEY (SUMI) who was born about 1550. The first record found of my ggg grandfather SAMUEL HEFNER was in Lincoln County, North Carolina land records. He was also listed on the 1800 Federal Census of Lincoln County, North Carolina. GEORGE HEFNER, FREDERICK HEFNER and JACOB WETZEL were also all on the 1800 Census in Lincoln County, North Carolina. SAMUEL and GEORGE HEFNER, brothers, married CATHERINE and REBECCA WETZEL, both daughters of JACOB and MARGARET 'SUMMEY' WETZEL. About 1802, JACOB WETZEL along with SAMUEL HEFNER, his brother GEORGE HEFNER, and the older male, FREDERICK HEFNER whom I think could be the father of SAMUEL and GEORGE HEFNER. I am looking for proof that this FREDERICK HEFNER was the father of SAMUEL and GEORGE HEFNER. By 1803, the legislature of Georgia created a new county and called it "Walton County." Governor Milledge ordered a census to be taken and it was soon after. Enumerated on this census was SAMUEL HEFNER, with seven whites in his household. Also listed was JACOB WETZEL with eight whites and one Negro, GEORGE HEFNER with five whites, FREDERICK HEFNER with four whites and JOHN HEFNER with eight whites. I believe that this is the JOHN HEFNER that was murdered during an altercation during the Walton War. FREDRICK HEFNER was on the 1810 Buncombe County, North Carolina, probably he was the older male in the household of GEORGE HEFNER on the 1820 census in Buncombe County, North Carolina. He probably died soon after. No record was found of his wife.SAMUEL and CATHERINE 'WETZEL' HEFNER lived in Buncombe County, North Carolina until they moved soon after 1838 when they moved to Rabun County, Georgia. Several of their children and their spouses moved with them. SAMUEL HEFNER died before December 1845. CATHERINE 'WETZEL' HEFNER died the next year. Before 1845 my gg grandfather SAMUEL HEFNER, JR., married HANNAH MIRA JANE TRAMMELL, daughter of JAVAN and SARAH 'DAVIS' TRAMMELL. They remained in Henderson County, North Carolina until after the birth of their second child in January 23, 1847. Then they moved to Gilmer County, Georgia before the 1850 Federal Census was done.JAVAN and SARAH 'DAVIS' TRAMMEL also moved to Gilmer County, Georgia About the same time before the 1850 Federal Census. JAVAN TRAMMEL died there before 1860, his widow HANNAH lived till after 1880. JAVAN TRAMMELL was the son of WILLIAM TRAMMELL. I am looking for proof that SARAH DAVIS was the daughter of SURREY and MARGARET 'MAULDIN' DAVIS. My reason for thinking she was their daughter is that JAVAN TRAMMEL'S brother ROBERT TRAMMELL married MARY 'REBECCA' DAVIS, daughter of SURREY DAVIS and SARAH MAULDIN. SARAH and MARGARET MAULDIN were sisters. SURREY DAVIS married SARAH MAULDIN after the death of MARGARET 'MAULDIN' DAVIS. SURRY DAVIS and several of the TRAMMELLS were charter members of Cathy Creek Baptis Church. All my surnames - everwhere!
