(NC) line: my paternal grandmother's mother was Mary Atheline Clayton (1881-1954) who married F.C. Snyder (1876-1967), also of Jackson Co. They moved to Henderson Co. in 1906, when he was hired by Southern Railroad, and spent most of the rest of their lives there. My ggfather Snyder was stationmaster at Flat Rock (actually East Flat Rock) from 1928-1947. There are several Clayton graves at Oakwood Cemetery (the big cemetery on US64 in Hendersonville) but I don't know how they tie into my line. Mary Atheline was a daughter of William A. and Mary Ann Cogdill Clayton, both of whom are buried at Addie Cemetery in Jackson County.
