    3. Has anyone any ideas where I could find copies of a Methodist newspaper published about 1854-1857 in Ashville or Hendersonville North Carolina? The paper was called the HERALD OF TRUTH and the editor/publisher was a man named William Hicks. I have checked with the NC Archives and they have no reported copies. I can't find any reported holdings on Worldcat. According to THE RELIGIOUS PRESS IN THE SOUTH ATLANTIC STATES by Strong, William Hicks was editor of THE HERALD OF TRUTH. The paper was only published about 1855-1856. Strong did not list any institutions as having copies. I also have checked Batsel & Batsel's UNION LIST OF UNITED METHODIST SERIALS and they have no list of any surviving copies. If any copies survive I suspect they may be in some small college that is or was historically affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal South denomination. It is also possible copies could survive at some congregation Hicks was affiliated with or with some of his descendents. If anyone is aware of any extant issues I would be grateful to hear from you. Mike
