    3. Hi to everyone--this list has been very quiet lately. Any good new research on Henderson County families? I've been going through the 1850 Henderson County census on microfilm, and I just need to say that Mr. John Clayton Jr, who seems to be the primary gatherer and recorder of information, must have certainly had a case of tired hands. Unfortunately for us, his handwriting in most cases is so illegible that it has led to some major transcription problems! It's essential that you go back and look at the scribbles yourself and not trust the published transcriptions if you have any question about a name, etc. Has anyone else had problems with multiple listings of the same family in this census, sometimes with different information (ages, names of children, etc.)? I've been stumped on one set of contradictory listings for what look like the same family. Thanks for your help, Pam ************************************* Pam Wilson wilsonpam@mindspring.com Marietta, GA List Administrator, EFSS-L (Early Families in Southern States), HOLBERT-L and LAWLER-L through Rootsweb.com Associate list administrator, Arledge/Aldridge list (arledge@tx3.com) Coordinator, Arledge Family History Project http://www.geocities.com/heartland/prairie/8208
