    2. Hi Pam: Both the Buncombe County and the Henderson County have duplicate listings. (Have not found that in other counties, but unless the family being researched is one of the duplicate ones, it probably wouldn't be noticeable). I don't think Henderson is as easy to pick out, but in Buncombe County, the first ones then repeat. I can't remember how many it is. A very good transcription is that one that the Dorsey's did for Henderson County. In addition they found that all the original copies were not identical! so located a copy that had more folks on it! Including some of my missing relatives. There were several copies made (such as one for the county, one for the federal government etc.) done by hand even more errors entered. I agree, that haven't found your relatives in a transcription you should look for the original. Or vice versa, not having found them read the census where you think they should be.
