Whew!! Thanks for all your interest in the book!! I was swamped with mail and I'm sorry to say the book has been sold. One person told me you can order the book thru the Henderson County Historical Society for a total of 55.00 including shipping. Its a fine book, if you have any specific requests I will try to find time to look for names, just be as specific as you can please! Thanks again, Vernon
Hi All, I hope I'm not violating any rules here. My mother -in-law was cleaning out her mothers stuff (she passed away) and came across this book. It is full of information and pictures of Henderson County, North Carolina. She would like to sell it for 25.00. If anyone is interested or wants to see if their family is in it first, feel free to e-mail me. Again, I hope this is not against any rules, we just thought someone on this list could benifit from this book. My email is Housevman@aol.com Thank you

The Old Pendleton District (SC) database has been revised and the cd version will be mailed out by 15 December. All open requests will be filled at that time. It now contains information on over 296,000 individuals and more than 101,000 families with roots in the Old Pendleton District of South Carolina. OPD shared common borders with many SC, NC and GA counties as may be seen in this map http://jrshelby.com/opdcd/opd.jpg For more info on the cd, see http://jrshelby.com/opdcd/ which provides links to the OPDC/SCGS. Did I miss something? What ads?
-- I have created a web page for Marriage Bond Index of NC 1741-1868 marriagebondofNC http://marriagebondofnc.homestead.com/Home.html This page is not complete and will not be complete for several months. There are over 8,000 Bride and 8,000 Groom microfilm pages that list all marriage bonds for all counties of NC. I will add new surnames weekly so please don't get discouraged if you do not see the surname you are looking for. I have discovered that once you obtain the Index page that you are looking for it is easier to contact the NC Archives and get a copy of the original Marriage Bond. If you would like a specific Surname added to the page you may send me an e-mail and I will put that name on my list to add ASAP. All I ask is that you send one e-mail per Surname. You may send as many Surnames as you like, but please do so separately so that I may easily alphabetize my list that I take with me. In the Subject area put MB of NC (this will get my attention) In the body of the e-mail type the surname you would like added in ALL CAPS. Best of Luck to you all in your search for your ancestors.
