    2. Hello Bobby, I don't know how much this will be of interest to you but here goes: In HALIFAX COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA VOTERS AND SCHOLARS 1839-1862 by Dr. Stephen E. Bradley Jr. In School District Eleven 1843 there are students listed by the name of Wm. Applewhite and Henry Applewhite, Ann Applewhhite and Sally Applewhite. In 1847 the head of household was listed for this school district as Henry Applewhite with 5 children (not named) in the household. In the same book, a Henry Applewhite is listed as a 1839 voter and a Henry Applewhite is a voter in 1853. There were several Popes (also spelled POAP) as well as several Brantleys. If you need those, please let me know. In ABSTRACTS OF WILLS HALIFAX COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA 1855-1891 by David B. Gammon, there is a John T. Applewhite who witnessed the will of Lemuel D'Berry (Deberry) dated February 24, 1884. There is only one Rawls in this book which is the will of Ann M. Garrett dated 5 Mar 1878 which lists her sister Fannie J. Rawls. There is an Elijah Pope is a will dated 11 April 1859 and probated August 1859, lists wife Susan and children but not named. There is a Mary Pope dated 17 Aug 1854 Probated Feb 1855 lists son Hyder, son David, son George, dau Louisa Bobbit, Frances Pope and Mary J. Pope. A David Pope witnessed the will of Charles W. Shields dated 23 Dec 1864. There were a couple of Brantleys but no John. I hope some of this is of interest to you. Happy Hunting Bea Hudson Hampton, VA
