There is a book of the cemeteries around the town in the Coounty Library in Halufax. I have indexed 121 cemeteries in and around all of Halifax county but my book will not be finished before December. There is good pickens there. I have also indexed allof the Scotland Neck cemeteries. Florence << One of the resources I've never pursued while working on my Halifax County THOMPSON ancestors are cemetery records. I don't know that I've ever come across any published records of cemeteries. Also, I don't know if there happen to be any old cemeteries -- most likely in the immediate vicinity of the city of Halifax -- that it might pay me to visit. I may be getting an opportunity to do some work in Halifax County in the near future, so I'm curious as to whether there are some good "hunting grounds" I might benefit from if I visited. By the way, I actually grew up in Scotland Neck, just down the road from Halifax, so I'm familiar with the old cemetery there. My research so far suggests that my possible ancestors probably lived right around Halifax. I'm not positive, but I have to start somewhere. Thanks for any suggestions. >>
