I can only go to my 3rd gg gfather, Levi Carlisle, b. 1785/90, he married Penny Strickland on 19 Feb. 1822 Halifax Co., NC. She was the daughter of Marmaduke and Mary Mainer Strickland. My great grandfather David Bennett Carlisle, b. Dec. 1850, was born at Scotland Neck, NC, the son of Sparkman and Mary Madry Carlisle. Have you heard of this branch of the Carlisle's??????
