Patti: Thank you for your kind respone. Robert E. Warren and John Robert Warren were not brothers. They may have been related, but if they were, I haven't a clue as to how. I have researched Thomas Warren and his wife Rosanna Shearin. For a long time, I thought they were John Robert's parents, but found out I was wrong. I have researched John Robert for years and know much about his life including his Civil War duty. I have not been able to identify his parents. Thomas Warren was married twice. He had a son Henry by his first wife. It is possible he was John Robert's father. However, I have not been able to find information to establish this. I have also researched the Higgses and have published a chapter on this family. By-the-way, John Robert was called Jack.
