Fellow Halifax researchers: Some of you may remember that I am researching the CARPENTERS of Halifax County abt 1730 to 1800. I have obtained the abstracts of Edgecombe County deeds that are in Halifax (pre-1758) and the Halifax deeds. The land in question is QUANKEY CREEK (both Little and Big) and Quankey Swamp. I have a 1972 county map of Halifax Co. and find the two creeks which run into the Roanoke but where is Quankey Swamp? Could someone please let me know. Also I am convinced that Issac Carpenter's father is William and that James REEVES, the KINGS, and WHITES are related. Does anyone have info relating to these individuals. Thanks Louis Carpenter
