Will hello Shelby. My husband was born in Hollister North Caroline and he knew the Qualls. He does not recall Mr. Qualls father of Tracy or his mother name. His parents lived in Essex, North Carolina which is a little ways out of Hollister. Tracy was the magistrate of Halifax Co and his wife Ethel was post mistress of Hollister. There children were Quentin, Margaret, Jimmy and Carlton. Jimmy is about my husband age which is 63 and Carlton is maybe 66 or 67 and as far as he knows both are still living. The last time my husband heard Quentin was store manager in Portsmouth, Virginia and does not know if he is still living The store is Sears and Roebuck. Margaret have no idea about her. Tracy also owned a store in Hollister. Tracy was burned up in his house which was located across the street from store. Ethel wasn't at home the time of fire. I met both of them and they seems liked very nice people. My husband used to run around with Jimmy and they attended school together. -----Original Message----- From: crockersmith <crockersmith@lexcominc.net> To: NCHALIFA-L@rootsweb.com <NCHALIFA-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Wednesday, October 06, 1999 12:46 AM Subject: [NCHALIFA] Qualls 19903 >TRACY QUALLS >B: 18 Mar 1903 >D: Dec 1968 >Lived: Hollister, Halifax, NC > >I would like info on Tracy. >Thanks. >Shelby > >* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * >http://www.geocities.com/Vienna/Choir/3843/ >CROCKER/QUALLS/ROSE/PRIVETTE/PERRY/WRIGHT/ >WINSTEAD/BRIGHT/WILLIAMSON/FISHER/JOINER/ >ROSS/GODLEY/CREDLE/FLOWERS/HORN/BENSON >NC Counties: Edgecombe/Nash/Franklin/Johnston/Beaufort/Hyde/ >Shelby Jean CROCKER-Smith >* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * > > >==== NCHALIFA Mailing List ==== >==== NCHALIFA Mailing List ==== >This list is brought to you by the dedicated folks at Rootsweb. >To ensure that it continues, please visit them and subscribe at >http://www.rootsweb/com/rootsweb/how-to-subscribe.html >Jesse Lawrence, listowner, jmljr@flash.net > >============================== >Caught an error in the Social Security Death Index? >Use RootsWeb's POST-EMS to post a note about it! >http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/ >
