John, there is a Fishing Creek that separates Halifax County from Nash County. When looking at that area of NC, keep in mind that Nash was created from Edgecombe in 1777; Halifax from Edgecombe in 1759; and Edgecombe from Bertie in 1741. So, anyone living along the Fishing Creek could have been in any of those counties, depending on the date of residence. Danny Bunn
