John Hardy, Sr. m. Charity (probably O'Dyer) and John Hardy, Jr., very active in colonial affairs, m. Rebecca (sd. to be Byrd). John Jr. may have been m. more than once. This family has importation papers into NC/1695. If there is a familial connection between the IOW and Chowan (part which became Bertie) Hardys it has yet to come to light. Bebe Fox
