Hi Patti, Here is what I found on page 143 of book you referenced below: Will #789 pg. 502 Samuel PORTER 14 Jan. 1807 May Ct 1810 lend wife Mary PORTER my land and plantation and negroes, horses, cattle etc. and at her death or marriage to be divided amongst my children son John PORTER the negroes lent my wife etc. and the balance of my estate to be equally divided in 7 parts for: Nancy HERVY, Sally APSBY, Polly SCOGINS' children (names not given), Elizabeth DAMERSON, William PORTER, Samuel PORTER and Lucy PRITCHETT'S children (names not given) Wit: Christopher PRITCHETT, Oney HERVY Extr.: wife and William PORTER and Nevill GEE Hope this helps, this is the only reference I found of John PORTER in my notes.
