    3. George Green was the person that gave the land to the church. It is on page 220 (sorry I didn't write the deed book number) but the date was the 26th day of March 1842. George Green was a Rev. War soldier and his grave has a marker by the DAR I think it was. My husband is a direct descendent. I have collected some documents but I have not written up the family. I hope to some day. Betsy at the Halifax library Genealogy Room is also a direct descendent. She will be able to direct you to the grave site of George Green. (I get lost in a shopping mall!!) I have a picture of his stone if anyone on the list is interested. The Church has a graveyard around it with many old markers.
