I am descended from Frances Mathis, daughter of Thomas Mathis (c1710-1765) and Eliza of Edgecombe/Halifax Co NC. I know that Thomas had brothers named Isaac and James. From a will that I have seen, their father seems to have been another Thomas Mathis.
