Hello, We have been reading about the Kehukee Baptist Church with much interest, as one of my relatives transfered her membership from Kehukee Primative Baptist Church to Tom's Creek Primative Baptist Church in 1823 in Davidson County, N. C. Her name is Mary Harrison. It seems that they lived in the Kehukee swamps on the Ronoake River in Halifax County near a landing before moving. We would appreciate any information concerning this family. Thanks, Peggy
Thanks for all the help with the request I made below: Does anyone have access to book on Halifax Co, NC during the 1830-1840's. I am searching for John L. Taylor to determine if he is the father of Sylvanus Taylor. Sylvanus was not listed with John L. Taylor, if that is in fact, any kin to him because he was living in Tn and married by 1850.Georgia Copper King Lodge P O Bx 553 Red River NM 87558 505-754-6210 cklrr@taosnet.com
Would anyone be able to check to see if there might be some record of the cemetery where Lemuel Hogan would have been buried [only child of James A. Hogan/Hogun and Ruth (Blount/Blunt) Norfleet Hogan] b. 1752 Halifax; d. 1809 Halifax? I physically checked all the stones in the Hogun Cemetery north of Hobgood which had only surnames of "Savages." Perhaps a Norfleet Cemetery??
