I would love to contact anyone researching the ROBERT L. WOODARD family of Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC. In 1890 he married Margaret L. (MAGGIE) PACE of Salisbury, Rowan; at the time Robert was living in Lexington NC and was 23 years old when he married, thus born about 1867. His parents were J. H. Woodard and E. A. Woodard of Wilson Co., NC (on Robert's marriage certificate). Maggie PACE WOODARD was the daughter of JOHN FLETCHER PACE (b.1844-d.1901) of Salisbury, Rowan Co. and her mother was MARY L. WOODSON PACE (deceased in 1874 at Maggie's birth). Maggie was raised by her grandparents, ABNER AND JULIA ANN REED PACE of Salisbury (both previously from Guilford Co.) as her father remarried (Clara Bell WILSON Pace, later the wife of Rev. Henry F. STARR of Greensboro) about a year after the death of his first wife (Mary Woodson). Robert L. and Maggie WOODARD had a number of children in Greensboro or Gilmer, where he was a machinery merchant. In the 1910 census their children were: Jennie (b.1892), Marvin (b.1898), Charley (b.1902), Minnie (b. 1902); in that same census are shown the names of MYRTLE WOODARD (WOODERED mispelling on census), identified as Robert's sister (b.1888) and JULIA A. PACE (b.1825), widow. One of the girls (first name unknown) was active in theatrical productions in the Greensboro area before her marriage to an actor named DERRELL/DERRILL. She died in Philadelphia about 1910 while she and her husband were appearing on the stage there. At the time of this daughter's death, JULIA ANN REED PACE (a widow) was living with her granddaughter and Robert L. Woodard in Greensboro, and was buried there at her death in 1911. Robert L. Woodard is buried in the same plot, but I do not know where MAGGIE PACE WOODARD is buried. She perhaps re-married or went to live with a married child after her husband's death. I would love to hear from anyone researching this Woodard family.
