It is the George FINLEY Granville Grant that mentions "the line that divides the counties of Rowan and Orange." It is our goal to plot the earliest Granville Grants that were granted supplemented by the North Carolina State Land Grants with accompnaying deed history. We started with this grant because of the county line mention and will continue plotting grants east, west, north, and south of the Finley grant. The "Nottingham Colony" will encompass this area. We have also included driving directions where applicable. We welcome your feedback and hope this project will help others who are searching the land where their ancestors lived and died.
