DAR requires documentation of Revolutionary service and lineage, all sent to DAR in Washington DC however, they will not supply you with copies of the proof...they will however, give you the application of a member coming in under that Rev Ancestor if you know which one of his children etc... DAR will also check into any documentation or lineage that doesn't appear correct...not sure what the process is...but they of course want their records to be as accurate as possible...they also have a web site at dar.org I believe... might be nsdar.org As a member of DAR I know the documentation I had to send was at least 2 inches thick...and the complaint by most members is that it takes them too long to review the papers .... <g>... There are also a great many Revolutionary Patriots that are not in the DAR indexes...although a large collection if an Ancestors family did not join DAR they do not have a record of the service... Rebekah was the daughter of Robert Thom(p)son the Regulator who was killed in cold blood by Lord Tryon at Alamance and granddaughter of Rev. John Thomson, the English (but Scottish educated) Presbyterian evangelist, who came to MD and DE ca 1715 and who is buried in Mecklenburg Co., NC. Isaac and Rebekah were reportedly located near Guilford Courthouse, NC during Rev War. Later, after the war, Isaac apparently purchased a TN bounty land warrant from a David Passmore, a soldier in the Rev War. Isaac and Rebekah moved to TN and settled on this land. They are buried 10 miles east of present day Murfreesboro. Female descendants in the 1930's would later lay claim to rights in the DAR on the basis of Isaac's possession of this bounty land warrant. These claims are included in the DAR Patriot Index but appear bogus to the writer. Does anyone possess any proofs of THIS Isaac Wright's service in the Rev War (yes, there were at least 3 contemporaries in the all the colonies with that name) which corroborate he and Rebekah living in or around Guilford Courthouse and rendering service during the Rev War?
