    1. [NCGUILFO-L] Isaac Wright

    3. Isaac Wright, b. ca 1750, d. 1816, married Rebekah Thompson, b. 1752, d. 1840. Rebekah was the daughter of Robert Thom(p)son the Regulator who was killed in cold blood by Lord Tryon at Alamance and granddaughter of Rev. John Thomson, the English (but Scottish educated) Presbyterian evangelist, who came to MD and DE ca 1715 and who is buried in Mecklenburg Co., NC. Isaac and Rebekah were reportedly located near Guilford Courthouse, NC during Rev War. Later, after the war, Isaac apparently purchased a TN bounty land warrant from a David Passmore, a soldier in the Rev War. Isaac and Rebekah moved to TN and settled on this land. They are buried 10 miles east of present day Murfreesboro. Female descendants in the 1930's would later lay claim to rights in the DAR on the basis of Isaac's possession of this bounty land warrant. These claims are included in the DAR Patriot Index but appear bogus to the writer. Does anyone possess any proofs of THIS Isaac Wright's service in the Rev War (yes, there were at least 3 contemporaries in the all the colonies with that name) which corroborate he and Rebekah living in or around Guilford Courthouse and rendering service during the Rev War?
