In Oct. 1856 Susan Bevings married William Emory C. Reid in Rowan (bondsman Abner Pace). Susan is buried in Liberty Churchyard, Davie County. Susan Bevings/Bivens was the daughter of John Marion Bivins (1795-1845) of Rowan. William Emory C. Reid/Reed was the son of Nathan Reid and Mary (Cottrell) Reed of Guilford County, NC. Nathan and Mary had married in 1833 in Guilford. I would appreciate any information on these families from Rowan and Guilford Counties. I suspect that my gggrandmother (JULIA ANN REED - B.1825-D.1911) may have had ties to this Reed family of Guilford.
