Does anyone know if there was any kind of epidemic in Guilford County between 1824 and 1837. I have been going over the court minutes for that period and it seems to me there were an awful lot of orphans mentioned in these records. These, of course, are minors, so their parents had to be within certain age brackets and probably not just dying of old age. The first thing that came to mind was some sort of epidemic that is not mentioned in the court minutes.
