You might get some tips from Rootsweb itself on how to research African American ancestors, and perhaps also some of your white ancestors too. I think we are all a little mixed, perhaps with Indian blood too. If you want to subscribe and don't know how, get back to me and I will explain. I know you are going to have particular difficulties, but more and more internet sites are including Slave Schedules and that can be a big help to you. I am sure there is even a Mailing List for people researching African American ancestors--perhaps someone else can tell you about that. Don't be discouraged. I have been searching for the parents of my gggrandfather Abner Pace in Guilford for five years and am no closer today that I was when I began.
