In the Guilford Co. marriages there is another Frederick Smith who married Yeona Kimbra on 8 March 1827, bond by Abraham Cook, w. Jno. G. Hanner. In the 1800 census, there is a Frederick Smith is living next to an Andrew Smith who is much older, and also a Robert Smith who might be a brother to Frederick, or some relative. In a land warrant dated June 7, 1799, a Michael Will purchased 40 acres on the Reedy Fork bordered on the north by Frederick Smith. Frederick Smith and Samuel Fulton were chain carriers to survey the property. There is only that one entry for Frederick Smith in the land entries book. There are a couple of entries for Andrew Smith, north side of on Reedy Fork, issued 1787, which again leads me to believe that perhaps Frederick was a son of Andrew? Could Andrew have died and left the land to Frederick by 1799? Nothing concrete, of course, but it's a place to look. mk ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jannine Coble Gregory" <jgregory8@austin.rr.com> To: <ncguilfo@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, September 09, 2007 3:29 PM Subject: Re: [NCGUILFO] Fw: Frederick Smith > I have Frederick Smith b. 3-6-1812 the son of David Smith and Margaret > Shoffner/ > Is this the one? > > -----Original Message----- > From: ncguilfo-bounces@rootsweb.com > [mailto:ncguilfo-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Mary Ellis > Sent: Sunday, September 09, 2007 2:59 PM > To: ncguilfo@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [NCGUILFO] Fw: Frederick Smith > > Did this Frederick marry a Clapp. I found this in the Brick Church > Records.
