NC. I know her father's name was Stephen, believe her mother to be named Elizabeth. Elizabeth was the only girl in a family of boys, at least 9. Her brothers were Josiah, Joseph, , Elihu, Enoch, Elias, Elijah, Uriah, Elisha, and one unnamed. She may also have had a brother Stephen. Stephen was listed in the 1790 Rockingham Co. census. The only other Lephew listed was Mary Lephew. Elizabeth married my 4th grandfather, William Scott in 1796 in Rockingham Co. NC. They later moved to Franklin Co. VA with their 6 children,there might have been more than six. Stephen's wife was said to be at least 1/2 Cherokee indian. Their descendants were listed on the final rolls of the freed Cherokee. I appreciate any data anyone might have on this family.
