Will of Thomas BRINCEFIELD Will written 12 Jan 1878 Probated 11 March 1878 Book E Page 210 Guilford County, NC I, Thomas BRINCEFIELD, of the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of my earthly exixtence, do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say: First_That my executor, (hereinafter named) shall provide for my body a decent burial, suitable to the wishes of my relations and friends, and pay all funeral expenses, together with my just debts, howsoever and to whomever owing (accruing since the late war) out of the money that may first come into his hands as a part or parcel of my estate. Item 1st. I give and devise unto my daughter Sarah BRINCEFIELD the sum of twenty five dollars extra for her diligent attention to me in my old age, to be paid to her by my executor after my death, out of any moneys belonging to my estate not otherwise disposed of. Item 2nd_ I will and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah J. BRINCEFIELD, and my two grand-daughters Nancy BRINCEFIELD and Mary J. BRINCEFIELD daughters of my sons John & F.L. BRINCEFIELD Deceased, all of my real estate, and personal property consisting of cows, hogs, sheep, 1 carryall and horse, household and kitchen furniture & farming utensils in equal proportions, share and share alike, to them and each and every of them, their executer administrator and assigns, absolutely, forever and lastly- I do hereby constitute and appoint my trusty friend. John A. WATTINGTON, my lawful executor to all intents and purposes to execute this last will and testament, according to the true intent and meaning of the same, and every part and clause thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made, In witness whereof I the said Thomas BRINCEFIELD do hereunto set my hand and seal, this the 12th day of January AD 1878. WALLINGTON do solemly swear (or affirm) that I believe this writing to be and contain the last Will and Testament of Thomas BRINCEFIELD deceased; and that I will well and truly execute the same by first paying his debts and then his legacies, as far as the said estate shall extend, or the law will charge me; and that I will well and faithfully execute the office of an executor, agreeable to the trust and confidence reposed in me, and according to law, so help me God.
