Recorded in Record of Wills G page 137 North Carolina Guilford County I Sally BRINCEFIELD of the aforesaid County and State being of sound mind but considering the uncertainty of my earthly exixtence do make and declare this my last will and testament. 1st my executor hereafter named shall give my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my friends and neighbors & relatives and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts out of the first moneys which may come into his hands belonging to my estate. 2nd My will and desire is that my estate real and personal shall be sold and the debts owing me collected. and the surplus over and above paying debts and expenses shall be equally divided and paid one half to Nancy Jane MURRY and her heirs and the other half to Marry Jane POFFENBERGER and her heirs (wife of John POFFENBERGER) the said Mary Jane POFFENBERGER now living in Indiana. 3rd I hereby constitute and appoint my trusy friend S.D. RIPPY my lawful executor to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning (over) Page 2 of the same and every part and cause thereof hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made. In witness whereto I the said Sally BRINCEFIELD do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 20th day of November 1897. UNDERWOOD State of North Carolina In the Superior Court Guilford County A paper purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Sally BRINCEFIELD deceased, is exhibited before me the undersigned, Clerk of the Superior Court for said County by S.D. RIPPEY, the executor therein mentioned , and the due execution thereof by the said Sally BRINCEFIELD by the oath and examination of John A.G. SHEPPERD & Jno W. UNDERWOOD the subscribing witnesses thereto; who being sworn, doth depose and say, and each for himself deposeth and saith, that he is a subscribing witness to the paper-writing now shown him, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Sally BRINCEFIELD that the said Sally BRINCEFIELD in the presence of this deponent subscribed her name at the end of said paper-writing, which is now shown as aforesaid, and which bears date of 20 day of November 1897. And the deponent further saith, That the said Sally BRNCEFIELD the testator aforesaid did at the time of subscribing her name as aforesaid declare the said paper writing so submitted by her and exhibited to be her last Will and Testament and this deponent did thereupon subscribe her name at the end of the will as an attesting witness thereto and at the request and in the presence of said testatrix . And this deponent further saith , that at the said time when the said testatrix subscribed her name to the said last Will as aforesaid , and at the time of the deponent's subscribing his name as an attesting witness thereto , as aforesaid, the said Sally BRINCEFIELD was of sound mind and memory , of full age to execute a Will, and was not under any restraint, to the knowledge, information or belief of this deponent: And further these deponents say not.
