    1. [NCGUILFO] Rachel VICKORY/VICKERY (1804-1864) Quaker

    3. Most, if not all, my proven Quaker lines came through Nantucket, Massachusetts and Chester County, PA. All my Quaker lines were in Guilford/Randolph cos., North Carolina at some point, and later on, all my Quaker related lines were in Randolph/Wayne/Henry Cos, Indiana. I tend to believe that my 3x great grandmother Jereter(1802-1876), wife of Wiley WALL (1799-187x?), was born a Quaker in NC and remained so until her disownment, for non-attendance, in February of 1840 from Providence Preparative Meeting (recorded in Center MM records). There is a Rachel VICKERY, parents unknown, who was also Quaker, at Marlborough MM, in Randolph Co., NC about the same time that Jereter was a member of Providence Preparative Meeting, Randolph Co., NC, under the care of Center MM, Guilford Co., NC, and which was the closest Meeting to the east and not far east from Vickery Mill and a bit south of Christopher VICKERY's plantation in the northernmost part of Randolph County, next to Timber Ridge Baptist Church, where old Christopher VICKREY (1740-1841) was a Baptist minister. Jereter would have been his granddaughter if I can prove the Vickery lineage somehow. The Vickery line is the only line I have found in my family Quaker history that apparently did not originate in PA or MA. Rachel VICKORY moved to Marlborough MM from Center MM, dated 1835,5,20. The spelling of VICKORY is consistent with that of Sampson VICKORY (b. 1757) whose daughter, Kessandria VICKORY, married in 1800 Absalom VICKREY, son of Christopher VICKREY. Kessandria and Absalom were half or full first cousins, depending on the true parentage of Sampson VICKORY and Christopher VICKREY. (I believe they had different mothers, but the same father, Marmaduke.) Rachel transferred her membership back to Center MM, NC on 1840,5,2. On 1847,3,6, Rachel again transferred her membership back to Marlborough MM from Center MM, dated 1846,11,21. I am in the middle of requesting copies or transcripts of the original records. Rachel's maiden name is indicated to be (VICKERY), but may actually be an alternative spelling by Hinshaw's abstracters. If Rachel Vickory, born on May 11, 1804, died March 10, 1864 and Jereter ____ Wall, born Aug 31, 1802, were sisters, I have no proof of this but do strongly suspect this based on the location of Providence Preparative Meeting and the fact that its records were kept by Center MM in Guilford County. (The Center MM women's records are lost prior to 1835 and men's minutes lost prior to 1825. ) This is why it is so difficult to reconstruct this particular Quaker Vickery family! No one seems to know who all of the children of Sampson Vickory were but some of them are known. Kesssandria was born in the right timeframe to have been one of Sampson's daughters. Kessandria VICKORY, born between 1781-1782, daughter of Sampson VICKORY and Charity ROBBINS, is not confused with Cassandra Vickrey, born abt 1806, who was dau. of Francis Marion Vickrey and granddaughter of John Vickrey. If anyone can help, or continue to help reconstruct any such Quaker Vick*r*y lines, I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions on this. Thanks, Tim Walls
