During my research I have found that people moved for more and better land, land grants for service in the Revolutionary War, and the slavery issue was a big cause also. One of the big routes was through the mountains where VA and NC meet, then into TN and up through KY. One thing that I relearnd about American history was that Daniel Boone, and others like him were not the wandering explorers that they were portrayed to be. They were mercenaries, and went West to find home sites for other people for a fee. If you trace different lines they all seem to go from VA down through central NC and over into Western VA, Eastern TN and then North or West. All up through KY into OH, and IN is populated with people from VA, and NC. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
