He was born in Gilford County on June 19, 1934, to the late Oscar Floyd Sr. and Mamie Stanley Dunigan. Mr. Dunigan was retired from the Surry County Sheriff' s Department where he served as a detention officer, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his loving wife, Della Kathleen Dobbins Dunigan of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Jerry Ring of North Wilkesboro; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Ring, Josh Ring and Jada Ring. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 24, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Groce officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time for the funeral service today, Aug. 24, at the funeral home.
