Greensboro, NC has a library with research, but it's been years since I was there and I found High Point to be more to my liking. Greensboro may be alot more accessible and have added more research tools than when I was researching there which must have been 20 years ago at least. Actual wills, deeds, etc. would probably be at the Courthouse in Greensboro, but I know High Point has them on the computer, but you might have to order original documents when working from High Point. Your Coble, Spoon and Greeson possibly could have been in the lower southeastern area of Guilford which could be Greene, Rock Creek or Clay. Greene borners both Randolph and Alamance Counties. Rock Creek is directly above Greene and Clay is on the west side of Greene. Coble could be found in Alamance, also. They were all formed out of the original Orange C! ounty, but Alamance did not come into being until 1849, I think. Guilford about 1771. Prior to Guilford, Orange Co. covered about 1/3 or so on the east side and Rowan Co. was the remainder. Randolph Co. was formed out of Guilford in 1776. Hopefully someone with more recent experience with the Greensboro Library will give you some hints. Good luck! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
